VKS 3000 Feeding Belt
The VKS 3000 sheep and goat feeding belt is the top choice in sheep and goat feeding systems.
It is not only a way to easily feed animals, but also a high-quality tool with multiple benefits.
It is designed for the harsh conditions that prevail in a stable. It has a sturdy construction, entirely made of food-grade stainless steel (304) with aluminum shutters.
The VKS 3000 sheep and goat feed belt can feed 6 animals per running meter. It can be used with a variety of different types of solid feed. Clover, straw, silage, concentrated feed or a combination of several feeds is no problem.
Feeding can be done manually, with a auger, a mixer wagon or a robot.
The loading area is outside the animal area so that it is clean and easily accessible.
The feed belt can save a lot of space, as there is no need for feeding aisles and it can be used as a divider for groups of animals.
Each animal can have the amount of feed we have decided on and there is no crowding of animals, nor can any animals disturb the others during feeding.
There is the possibility of a different ration per group.
The VKS 3000 sheep and goat feeding belt, like the VKS 2000, are the only systems that support individual animal locking. The belt includes an autonomous head locking mechanism that does not require any action from the farmer. Each animal is trapped by itself when it lowers its head to eat from the belt, with the help of an aluminum shutter. There is no need for the farmer to be there and lock the animals. The release of the animals can be done for all animals at the same time using the central release lever or individually for each animal by the farmer. In this way, the belt can be used for other purposes (such as ultrasound examination, vaccinations or other veterinary work). Each animal can be released separately and does not have to wait.
The VKS 3000 sheep and goat feeding belt is controlled by a central control panel. The operating speed of the elastic belt can be easily adjusted by an external rotary switch. Adjusting the loading speed is therefore very easy.
The operator can also choose between continuous operation of the belt or automatic advancement, with the help of an external switch. When automatic advancement is selected, a sensor is activated. If for some reason there is no feed on the conveyor belt, the belt stops until the gap is filled. Once it is full, the feed belt starts moving again automatically. In this way, all animals will find food waiting for them in their place.
The locking mechanism of the feeding belt can be placed in three different positions:
Open position: In this position the feed doors are open and accessible to the animals and the locking mechanism is not activated. The animals can come, eat and leave whenever they want. Lock position: In this position the feed doors are open and accessible to the animals, but the locking mechanism is activated. The animals can come and eat, but they will be locked in and will not be able to leave unless the operator releases them. Closed position: In this position the feed doors are closed and are not accessible to the animals. This is to avoid accidents during loading or in case the producer for some reason does not wish to feed the animals.
